Runfessions

June 26, 2014

Yep, time for another purge of the runfessions. Many of you have joined me in the runfession movement so this time around I made it a linkup. The plan is to share runfessions during the last week of the month or so. Let’s go:

Runfessions
I procrastinated yesterday’s workout because I had a cleaning jag. Unheard of, I know. When the urge to do housework strikes, I’ve gotta go with it.

Part of my cleaning jag included decluttering some old magazines. I really enjoyed Dimity McDowell’s account of her Ironman in the April Runners World. Yeah I said April. Can we say behind on the mag stash?

Speaking of behinds, what’s with all these Fitspo Instagram accounts with the bare female behinds? I mean I enjoy a quivering muscle or two as much as the next girl, but do I need an endless feed of bionic booties?

I’m kind of chomping at the bit to get the NYCM training party started. Seeing some of you are already underway makes me nervous. I feel like my training plan won’t be “enough”.

I need to draw this strength training competition with the Caveman to a close. That’ll happen next week. I’m already feeling like I haven’t done “enough”, won’t be strong “enough”…the whole “enough” thing. Do you sense a theme here?

I told you there are lots of summer birthdays here. So cookie cake is suitable running fuel, right? Never mind.

haircut

I found a stylist who’s not afraid to cut my hair and I finally got a haircut I like. It’s still long enough for a ponytail so don’t worry, I have my priorities in order. I’m promising myself I’ll go back in 8 weeks or so but knowing me it’ll probably be more like 10 or 12…or…

How about you: Runfessions? Do you do housework regularly? How about a haircut?

Your haircut is super darling, Louise! Will your stylist come to Colorado – PLEASE!!!??? Omg I need a trip. Or a buzz. SOMETHING! I also need someone to come clean my house! Karen (from Iowa…remember??) was just here so I did a quick clean, but nothing deep; I appreciate friends coming now and then because it’s a much-needed forced clean!

Ok marathon training girl – go get that training done! Woohoo!

Did you have any cookie cake to celebrate my birthday today?? I HOPE NOT! LOL!

And I couldn’t agree more, those FITSPO photos make me gag!

I get in a zone when cleaning & watch out! My family knows better than to get around me when cleaning! Your hair looks great! I also don’t like to take the time to get cuts, however I do need to take the time to get my color done! It’s catastrophic without color on this head! Have a gret weekend.

I used to have a regular schedule with housework, not it’s definitely go with it when the urge hits! I’m excited for you to start NYC training soon. I was just mapping out a possible Houston plan to make sure it’s all possible post baby. ๐Ÿ™‚

I am a procrastinated house cleaner. Lol! Not my thing at all. Good luck on starting your NYC training.

Your hair looks great! You have such nice hair to begin with, so you make it easy for the stylist, I’m sure.

Since I’m still not running tons of miles, I have no runfessions, other than I’ve been insanely happy that it is progressing well!

Man, I *really* need a cleaning jag to hit me. They are rare with me, but when they strike it is awesome. My house, specifically my closets, could really use a jag!

I love, love, LOVE your hair. (I always have). This is a perfect length!! It’s so flattering!! And keeping ponytail length is KEY! In fact, now that my hair has grown out a bit, I have some layers by my face and I had a FIT when one of them was slightly too short to fit in my ponytail. I was frustrated while it fell out of my ponytail and flopped in my face for about 4 weeks until it finally stayed put. NEVER AGAIN! –Lisa

Love the hair! It’s always a relief to find someone who can not only do hair but understand it. I recently went back to a stylist I hadn’t seen in 9 years, and she did something amazing. It’s the best my hair has looked since I went short.

Runfessions… I suck at taper. Does that count? Other than that, I’m lagging in finding a plan for my fall half. A 12-week plan would start in 10 days. I considered coaches but not sure about $$. I found a plan from Competitor but it scares me. A LOT.

No runfessions for me, I don’t run enough yet. Maybe next month! ๐Ÿ™‚

I love a good runfessions post!! If I can get it together I will definitely write one and link up. NYCM Training – you just do your own training! Of course it will be ‘enough’! I actually think starting the training cycle gives you as much paranoia and worry as tapering!! Your hair looks great! Love the shorter length. I’m the worst with getting my hair done. Every time I go my stylist is disapproving about the amount of time between cuts (and don’t get me started on the grey regrowth I frequently rock)!!

Haha I get behind on Runner’s World too. And, yea… my hair. Since I donated it, I’ve been thinking when will I get a haircut next? ๐Ÿ˜‰

LOL! Why are stylists afraid to cut your hair?!

You’ll be happy to be starting NYCM training later and not have to do as much in the summer! ๐Ÿ™‚

I have several years worth of running and food mags…must. keep. them. all. forever. LOL I’ve never done a link up, can you explain how it works? Love the runfessions!

Hey!! Carly from Fine Fit Day just told me to come and link up with you because I had done a running thoughts/confessions post today. How funny is that?! I got a haircut a few weeks ago, but she did a colour I’m not a fan of:/ Loved the actual cut, though!

Looks like you also changed your part. That can totally make the difference with hair styles. Looks GREAT! ๐Ÿ˜€
I am totally annoyed my female booties all over the net. I guess that’s what gets the clicks though.. :/

Michelle blog about your runfessions then come back and add your link to the bottom of the post. I once had all the mags. Kind of wish I still did.

I just went through the magazines and I had some back to last fall. That’s pretty bad…but I do get my haircut pretty regularly. I have to maintain my well groomed image…. :p

    LOVE your hair!!!!!!

As for cleaning – ummmm, come my way now! ๐Ÿ˜‰

On the body & fitspo thing, I was following a couple fit over 40 pages & after about a couple months they turned into not all 40+, a bunch of fitness models & fitspo pics so I stopped with that – very sad!!!

LOVE the hair! only reason I started NYC training early was because of boredom. I did the same exact workouts and paces for over 6 months and couldn’t take it anymore. ๐Ÿ™‚ i actually have a cleaning guy. he comes once a month. what he can do in a little over an hour, would take me half a day. 110% worth the $$ to me. i have magazines from march that i still haven’t read. such is life.

I try not to clean at home any more – after spending 1-3 days a week cleaning our venue I figure one of the other people I live with can clean.
Love your hair cut!! I get mine done every 4 weeks cause it’s short and necessary!!!

Your hair looks fabulous!!! I will link up to the Runfessions within the next few weeks. =) I never really noticed all the bare bums out there until you mentioned it – and now I am seeing them everywhere! Yikes!

Here’s my Runfesion. I signed up for the RNR STL half today. Oddly forking over that amount of money does nothing to motivate me. I just have to decide and go. Wish me luck!

You get your hair cut way more than I do. And I agree with the cleaning thing. If the mood strikes, just go with it.

Runfession – I always paint my nails a certain way for marathons because I think it is good luck – weird superstition.
