My hip x-ray yesterday came back normal! At last I have the PT referral I’ve been yearning for. Although I never really suspected a sfx, I couldn’t totally rule it out either. But now I can! Heading out for my first PT appointment right now!
Bark! Plus Burning Questions
We went to a party over the weekend. A friend of ours turned 50 plus they have a new puppy, their third Border Collie! The girls with Theo, almost 3 months old. I often find hostess gifts challenging, especially when I don’t know the people well. With the recent cooler weather, I’ve had a wicked [Read More]
Weekly Rewind: Injured Reserve
google images This week I just let everything rest. I jumped to no conclusions, made no judgements or plans pertaining to running and my current plight–if I can even call it that. The Chicago Bears, namely Jay Cutler, now there is plight. My coaching gig made it easy to shift the focus from me onto [Read More]
Coffee Conundrum
My tweeps already know this but I had gross coffee incident a week or two ago. Other than my tweet, I’ve been pretty much unable to talk about it until now. Oh the trauma. I was going about my business, preparing a fine pre-run brew, when I spotted this most unsavory creature just making his [Read More]
What In The World Am I Doing Now?
Ok so it’s day 4 of no running. So far my spirits are still good, probably because I’m occupying myself with things other than, you know the R word….or the M word. Today, because it’s supposed to be rainy, I’ll get my spin on in a group cycle class–haven’t been in eons, then I’ll pump [Read More]
Take Action Tuesday
First thank you all so much for your kind words yesterday. They meant the world to me. After finally ripping off the bandaid that was the prospect of running the Twin Cities Marathon, I’ve been doing more than my share of sniveling, whining, licking my wounds, riding around on Blanche, the trusty road bike, enjoying some [Read More]
The Post I Hoped Not to Write
I attempted 22 miles on Saturday. Weather was perfect and cool. I felt great. I’d hydrated, eaten well, rested as if this were the actual marathon. I took it nice and slow. I REALLY felt this was going to go well. The pain started at mile 4.The tears started at mile 5 when my pace [Read More]
Channeling 22
Google Images After Monday’s yoga incident, I unwisely got out bright and early Tuesday morning to test the hamstring and assess the damage. I managed five leaden, pathetic miles, which, save for a few jolts from the hamstring when I stepped ‘wrong’, were painfree. However I may or may not have been gimping the last mile or [Read More]
TTT: 2 Loves, + 1 Baa Baa!
Love #1: Bloc Scorpion Sunglasses: Kids these are my go-to glasses for running and cycling. They are super comfy and light: no pinching the bridge of the nose, no slipping and they’ve not once steamed up on me. That’s saying a ton given the humidity we’ve had this summer. Plus they look pretty menacing, yes? With [Read More]
Almost Wordless Wednesday
Look what came in the mail today: Corral 1 in Twin Cities is waiting for me. God, hip and hamstring willing, I’ll be there.
