Is There a Training Plan For That?

October 21, 2011

Tuesday Tidbits

October 18, 2011

We’re in for a couple days of cold rain starting tomorrow. It took major restraint on my part to be smart with the dicey hip and not run two days in a row. I ended up doing plyo intervals on the mill instead. The cardio intervals were spent walking incline mostly. Ok, I ran some….but [Read More]

Confessions/Revelations of a Reluctant Juror

October 14, 2011

I’ve been on jury duty this week. In this county that means I need to be on call, like a fire fighter for the entire week, ready to pounce head in to court within a 90-minute time frame. ConfessionsThis was not the first time I was summoned to serve. Nor was it the second. Yes, [Read More]

Three Things Thursday

Weekend Rewind: Pumpkin Envy

October 3, 2011

Before school started, at the Teacher Meet n Greet for Thing 2’s class, there was a bulletin board of ‘wishes’. In other words, items the class would like parents to volunteer to bring. At the time, the 6 pieces of white felt seemed boring. The 2 dozen styrofoam balls seemed unwieldyThen I saw it:One XXL pumpkin. That’s [Read More]

Thoughts from Injured Reserve

September 30, 2011

There’s a mind-clearing technique for meditation where you imagine setting any thoughts that pop into your head on a leaf and let it float away from you. While I am not nearly as adept at meditation as I would like to be, I often use that leaf-in-the-water technique as a way of releasing negativity, worries [Read More]

marciashealthyslice I'm a working mom who, as part of a mid-life challenge, decided to run a marathon for kicks. I didn't plan on it becoming a hobby, but it did. I qualified for Boston at my second marathon and finished the 6 World Marathon Majors in London in 2019. Set no small goals. You never know what you're capable of until you try!
