Relays, Ducks and Dogs

April 27, 2016

Do you relay? I sure do, especially when it’s for a great cause like this one is. As a Sweatpink Ambassador I was given the opportunity to partner with the United Relay of America and Aftershokz wireless stereo headphones. Select a leg of the United Relay of America and join me! The relay kicks off [Read More]

Let’s Hear It for Race Swag!

April 25, 2016

This week’s Tuesdays on the Run Linkup is all about Race Swag. You know: The goodies you receive at a race. For my purposes, I’m going to exclude race shirts and medals because they’re pretty much expected (at half marathons and longer). I’m defining swag as those unexpected tidbits (maybe at the finish line, maybe [Read More]

5 Things to Love About Triathlon

April 22, 2016

In case you missed my frustrated triathlon training face on Facebook or Instagram yesterday, I had a difficult swim. I know another one, what else is new? Of course I didn’t want to get in the pool at all and once I did, I wanted to get out after five minutes, then 10, 11, 12 [Read More]

Emotional Jekyll & Hyde

April 21, 2016

Did you ever dread something but when it gets cancelled, rather than feel relieved, you’re sort of bummed? That’s exactly where I am right now with two things. Remember that super sprint tri I did last spring at the high school? It was Outside Bike-Track Run-Pool Swim and it was my very first tri adventure. [Read More]

April 14, 2016

My friends over at Eggland’s Best (my Eggland’s Besties) are asking cooks everywhere to create an egg dish that uses Eggland’s Best Eggs® along with ingredients that are native to the state where they currently live for a chance to win 10k! What are our specialties here? The main crops here in Illinois are corn, [Read More]

Advice to My “New-Runner” Self

April 11, 2016

If I could turn back time. Ok now that old Cher song is stuck in my head. This week’s Tuesdays on the Run topic is “Advice for your New-Runner Self”. What pearls of wisdom do you know now that you wish you knew then? Personally I was a bit of an over-thinker. I immersed myself [Read More]

Apres-Cruise Weigh-In, Spring Cleaning and a Giveaway

April 7, 2016

When I returned home from spring break I told myself I’d wait a week or 3 before hoisting my over-fed self….er I mean hopping, that’s it, hopping…. on the scale. I didn’t exactly push any food away, after all. But just a day or so after returning, according to the way my pants fit and [Read More]

marciashealthyslice I'm a working mom who, as part of a mid-life challenge, decided to run a marathon for kicks. I didn't plan on it becoming a hobby, but it did. I qualified for Boston at my second marathon and finished the 6 World Marathon Majors in London in 2019. Set no small goals. You never know what you're capable of until you try!
