Loving/Not Loving: Winter Edition

January 7, 2016

Loving: Our town has cute, one-lane, covered bridges. Not Loving: When someone decides they’re not going to wait their turn to drive across and sneaks behind the car in front of them. What. You needed to save 5 seconds?? Loving: Costco’s low gas prices. Not Loving: People that jump the gas line at Costco. I mean [Read More]

Weightloss Wednesday: The Beginning

January 5, 2016

One of my 2016 goals is to drop 10 lbs. No time like the present to get cracking on that, right? Now that the glittery confetti of New Years has settled, let’s get down to business. While I did not deprive myself through December and the holidays (hello daily ice cream on Marco Island) I didn’t [Read More]

Stop the Presses!

January 4, 2016

This week’s Tuesdays on the Run topic is Goals. Running or otherwise. I talked about my goals here. Now stop the presses. It’s my blogiversary. This blog is 7 years old. That’s geriatric by social media standards. When I started this labor of love, Things 1 and 2 were 3 and 7 years old respectively. [Read More]

The New Year Unplugged

January 3, 2016

Except for Instagram, it’s been radio silence on social media here for a few days and ya know what? It felt pretty great! Before we get to the rest of the week’s goodness, here’s how the workouts went: Monday: Rest Tuesday: 6 trail miles Wednesday: Yoga Thursday: 5 miles Friday: Killer strength & swim Saturday: [Read More]

Watch Out 2016, I’ve Got Goals

December 30, 2015

I’ve never been a resolutioner. In fact I’m kind of a crappy goal setter. This is the closest post I could find that remotely discussed plans for 2015. My mileage tracking is ponderous at best. I may log it, I may not. I’ve never set a yearly mileage goal because I know whatever I run, it’ll be [Read More]

The Year in Race Medals

December 28, 2015

The final week of the year! This week on Tuesdays on the Run we’re reflecting on our races and the bling we remember them by. Who doesn’t love fabulous race medals? I know I do. So without further babbling I present to you my year in race medals. Left to right: AG1 Turkey Trot 4 [Read More]

A Marco Island Christmas

December 28, 2015

I’d tell you how my workout week went like I usually do, but I’m just back from our Florida vacay and not a whole lot of workout tracking was done. The workouts happened, they were just free-form. I ran at least 3x, sometimes on the beach, sometimes not. Sometimes fast, mostly not. I wore my [Read More]

2015 Running Highlights

December 21, 2015

This week’s Tuesdays on the Run topic is this year’s running highlights. It coincides very nicely with Courtney’s Year in Running Linkup so I’m going to borrow her format and linkup with her as well. Best Race Experience: Let’s face it, I did not light the world on fire with my speed this year. Except for [Read More]

Another Birthday Under Wraps

December 20, 2015

Before I get to the rest of the shenanigans, here’s how the workout week went: Monday: Rest Tuesday: 8 trail miles Wednesday: Yoga Thursday: 5 birthday miles Friday: Plyo intervals Saturday: Travel to FL Sunday: 4 beach miles Last week was my birthday week. We hit up the Big Bowl where I enjoyed Pad Thai [Read More]

Runfession Friday: Holiday Edition

December 17, 2015

It’s our final installment of Runfessions for the year! How’d that happen?? I know you’re all swamped with holiday prep so let’s get to it, shall we? Us runners? We like our shoes. I’m not even going to show you but at this very moment, I have not one, not two, but….ok five pairs of [Read More]

marciashealthyslice I'm a working mom who, as part of a mid-life challenge, decided to run a marathon for kicks. I didn't plan on it becoming a hobby, but it did. I qualified for Boston at my second marathon and finished the 6 World Marathon Majors in London in 2019. Set no small goals. You never know what you're capable of until you try!
