Runner Slang

July 18, 2016

This week our Tuesday’s on the Run topic is runner slang. You know, “code” words or phrases you and your running friends use to refer to running stuff. Me? I’ve got a few. Ok maybe more, but I’ll keep it short: Fish. This is 5-ish miles. Maybe just over 5, maybe just under. If you [Read More]

5 Reasons to RocknRoll Virtually

July 15, 2016

Who doesn’t love some rocknroll? I played classical violin for 8 years and I still love to rock. That’s why I’m Making a Band and running ALL the RocknRoll virtual races: Medals. Lots of them. This is a whole series. Run one, or run them all and score sweet bonus swag. You’re competing against you. [Read More]

Playlists That Move You

July 11, 2016

Do you pick a “theme song” that motivates you as you train toward a goal race? That’s what we’re talking about this week on the Tuesdays on the Run linkup. Personally I was not an early adopter on the running-with-music front. I was more of a purist. When the Caveman suggested I run with tunes, [Read More]

Four on the 4th Race Report

July 7, 2016

When we spend the Fourth of July in North Carolina with the in-laws, I like to run Four on the 4th. It has become somewhat of a tradition and may have been my first AG win back in the day. I still remember going back to Fleet Feet the next day to collect and use [Read More]

How Do You Choose a Race?

July 4, 2016

This week’s Tuesdays on the Run topic is How Do You Choose Your Races. Do you have a system? A budget? A goal of how many you wanna do? Share your thought process! I guess I’m most selective when it comes to full marathons (duh). Those typically get on the schedule first. Since completing the [Read More]

Crying In My Coffee

I’m not so sure I like the idea of it being July already but it is time for the Ultimate Coffee Date with Coco, Deb and Lynda so pull up a chair and I’ll get you a cup. If we were having coffee, I’d most likely lose my sh!% because we had to lay one [Read More]

5 Amazing Things to Do for Yourself This Summer

June 30, 2016

We’ve had a gorgeous summer here so far. Alas it slips away all too quickly. Sometimes there’s so much we want to do/go/see with family and friends, we don’t take the time to truly relax and care for ourselves. Here are some small, simple things that add up to a more pleasant, less stressed season. [Read More]

What’s Your Number?

June 27, 2016

We’re talking about your number as in how many races you like to run. That’s the question of this week’s edition of Tuesdays on the Run. According to my Instagram feed, many of you are chronic racers. Marathon and Half Marathon Maniacs. Runners on a mission. Maybe it’s a PR, racing the states, or completing [Read More]

marciashealthyslice I'm a working mom who, as part of a mid-life challenge, decided to run a marathon for kicks. I didn't plan on it becoming a hobby, but it did. I qualified for Boston at my second marathon and finished the 6 World Marathon Majors in London in 2019. Set no small goals. You never know what you're capable of until you try!
