Three Things Thursday: Spring Break Edition

April 1, 2010

We are still down in sunny, wonderful FLORIDA on spring break!

1. We gaped at lolled around with the beautiful people (ok some maybe not so beautiful) on Miami’s South Beach the other day. Can I just say Holy THONG-O-RAMA Batman! Here’s what the kids had to say about it:

Thing 2: ” Mom that lady forgot to wear her bathing suit…oh wait there it is…it’s almost invisible!”
Thing 1: “Seriously, can’t she find a suit to cover her butt?”

2. I managed a 6 mile tempo run on the sand with all negative splits yesterday. I’m coming to grips with the fact that slow is my new fast.

3. It’s been a festival of gluttony food down here. We found the most fantastic gourmet food shop (Carmine’s in West Palm Beach). I’m sure they’re beginning to think we’ve taken up residence there.

Happy April Fool’s Day!
I am off to do some pranks–what will your pranks be today?

I'm LOL at the commentary. We noticed the same thing last year on spring break. I felt more conspicuous in my SPF shirt than I would have in a string bikini LOL.

There is probably less than 0.1% of the population that should even consider wearing a thong bathing suit – and less than that that should wear them in public. Scary!

    Your kids are funny.

Ha ha…love the thong comments! You have to be a VERY secure person to wear a thong in public…I'm not one of them!

Hope you continue to have a good vacation! ๐Ÿ™‚

LOL on the thong comments! I also smiled at the Carmine's comment. My husband and I used to work in Juno Beach, FL and our office was about a mile from Carmine's on PGA Blvd. We loved Carmine's and had lunch there often.
BTW, if you have time, you may want to check out Macarthur Beach State Park (http://www.macarthurbeach.org). It's a few miles southeast of Carmine's and it's pretty cool. Have fun in Florida!

You are too funny, discovering your "new" fast in Florida, wow! I'm glad you're enjoying the vacay, too bad you have to look at fannies all day!

Slow is my new fast too. I have been frustrated by it but until I get a race scheduled I am trying to just enjoy the miles and being outside.

When we were in Aruba my Army son noticed girls out "reading books." It seemed like the one without tops were always reading. So each morning he left to take a walk and when asked what all he saw, "lots of girls reading books" It didn't take me long to catch on.

marciashealthyslice I'm a working mom who, as part of a mid-life challenge, decided to run a marathon for kicks. I didn't plan on it becoming a hobby, but it did. I qualified for Boston at my second marathon and finished the 6 World Marathon Majors in London in 2019. Set no small goals. You never know what you're capable of until you try!
