Loving/Not Loving

January 20, 2017

It’s been a shitty week. Shitty McShitterson. If I could take a mulligan and get a do-over on one week, this one would be it. Shitty runs, parenting challenges, coming within 12″ of dying…this week was a cluster. So what do we do? We let it all go and we laugh. Because laughter is the best medicine. And I’m not dead. Let’s play some Loving/Not Loving:

Loving. I’m finally back in the habit of hitting up a weekly spin class. The new instructor is awesome, the workouts are killer, and my hamstring, knock wood, is tolerating the bike well.
Not loving. At the beginning of each class so far, the instructor tells us how great her class at another location is. #notmotivating

Loving. The new Cascara Latte at Starbucks
Not Loving:
I came up high and dry with Starbucks for Life. Again. Seriously throw me a bone already. Even one free cup of coffee would put me over the moon.

Loving. Quinoa in a Cup from Ellyndale Foods. Seriously so easy to make, just add boiling water, cover and let it sit for 5 minutes. Organic, gluten free, vegan, low sodium and no junk. Did you see what I did with the Southwestern Barbecue Cup? Hand down, best lunch all week. Β Order them here and get one cup free when you buy two.
Not Loving. I didn’t follow directions and added too much water to the first cup I tried and it turned out bland and watery. #bloggerfail

Loving.Β It’s been touch and go since my fuel belt met an untimely demise, but I think I finally found a handheld bottle I like. This one from Nathan conforms nicely to my hand, doesn’t leak, and is insulated so my water doesn’t freeze in winter and will stay cooler in summer.
Not loving. When it’s super cold, I still don’t like to hold anything in my hand. Maybe I should fill it with something hot??

Loving: It’s United States Figure Skating Championship week.
Not Loving: I stayed up waaaaay too late watching it live last night and we have dinner plans with friends on Saturday so I’ll miss the senior women’s final…unless we eat fast. Really fast.

Stop by and see what I’m loving lately…and not so much! @nowfoods @nathansportsinc @usfigureskating

What are you loving lately? Not so much? How do you deal with a really bad week? Are you good about following directions?

Not Loving: Returning from the Bahamas to this weather! Pluses from the week: Starbucks Cascara Latte, getting more Vitamin D than I’m accustomed to all winter, and fun summer clothes in winter!

I have that same Nathan handheld, and I only used it twice, because if I have even the slightest twitch in the hand in which I am carrying it, I get a lovely unexpected spray in the face. I was told to get a different top (the pull-up kind rather than the one it comes with) to solve the problem, so I need to do that, because I like to use an insulated bottle in the summers.

    Loving – Cascara as well.
    Not Loving – My job

Loving – no ice or snow
    Not Loving – no sunshine

Loving – Nosa yogurt & granola
Not Loving – Nosa is only cheap at Walmart (prefer to shop at Target)

Oh no, I’m sorry to hear you had a shitty week. It’s almost over… xxoo

I can never with a handheld. Like, ever. I don’t like anything on me, on my arms or in my hand. I can hold my phone if I have to, but other than that, I’ll take the risk of going thirsty. Lol

Funny I was just thinking that I haven’t done one of these posts in a while!
    Loving — No snow!
Not loving — How stressful my job is lately!

Sorry you’ve had such a tough week – Hope your weekend is better!

I”m not loving how Boulder’s weather cools down just in time for the weekend. I’ve been in this pattern, and all I want to do is get outside. i may have to say screw it and just go for a run off the treadmill.

Oh no – this instructor totally knows how to motivate a group of people!
Breath in and breath out and just keep spinning Marcia… sometimes that’s all we can do…

If I could SEE the directions, absolutely — yes, I’d follow them. I’m glad your poopy week is over! Currently LOVING — sleeping late. NOT LOVING — marathon recovery.

I’m sorry you’ve had such a rough week! Hope things turn around soon.

I’ve been loving spending time with my kittens, but not loving how I have to rush out the door every morning so that they don’t escape the house!

Your picture made me LOL. Loving: the new refrigerator we were forced to buy (thanks to our old one dying); we got a great deal and it’s awesome. Loving: the forecast of 63* for tomorrow. Not loving: OMG. STOP RAINING.

Oh my goodness, this must be a bad week for you! Hang in there! This sounds like a really fun game! I want to play! Loving: the fact that I’m able to spend a little more time with social media now that work isn’t eating every single moment of my day and night. Not Loving: so much of social media is bogged down with politics and really unhappy/mean comments. Here’s the good news – next week HAS to be better right?

I was intrigued when I saw that new Starbucks flavor but I guess it’s just another sugar pump of flavor and not really fruit? I am waiting for them to have healthy flavors of combos.Have a great weekend hope it gets better!

Loving: that I get to run with you and Kim tomorrow and we’re having a photo op by the bean…
Not loving: that you dropped that bombshell about coming within 12” of dying? Did you come upon an icy patch like me while flying down a hill? Oh, the adrenaline I felt that day…

You’ll need to fill me in on EVERYTHING. Hasta manana!

I am the same way with carrying water bottles when its cold. I have a handheld that I like but I hate bringing it with me in the winter!

Sounds like you need a DVR!

It also sounds like your instructor is trying to strum up more clients for her previous class at the other studio because it’s SO GREAT…haha

Hope you have a better week next week. Thanks for linking up.

Hmm that’s strange. I commented on your post earlier today and now I don’t see it.

Anyways, I’m sorry you had a shitty week. :/ Hopefully next week will be better. Shitty runs are the worst and parenting is SO TOUGH. I don’t even want to know what’s in store for me as my kids go through middle and high school.

I’m so sorry you had a rough week. It was a tough one here, too.

I have that same Nathan bottle and I really like it. I also hate holding things in my hand, so I feel your pain.

On bad weeks, I just try to get through it, one day at a time. I try to remember all the good things and remember that “this too, shall pass.’

LOL I love the meme! So true. I was just complaining about that the other day on my road bike while riding it on the trainer. My TRI coach told me to put some A&D in my bike shorts. He said it’s actually caused by friction even though most people think it’s from pressure. Give it a try.

I have the same Nathan handheld and LOVE it! It even fits perfectly over my running gloves on cold weather runs.

Why would your instructor tell you how great the class is at another location?!? Is she trying to get you to go elsewhere?

I love your concept of loving/not loving!! Great idea for the blog.

Lately I have been loving that I am finally feeling ready to teach my first class. I’ve worked so hard to get here, and the big day is coming up soon!

Sorry you had a shitty week, but you survived. I am loving the 90s station on amazing n prime, not loving this kink in my neck from the drive home for Key West.

Sorry you had such a terrible week. But you’re right all you can do is let it go and laugh! πŸ™‚

I tried the new Cascara Latte. Not sure I loved it, but I did really enjoy the Smoked Butterscotch Latte. Yum. I may have to go get one today. lol.

Cheers to a great weekend and a better week next week.

I’m pretty good at following directions, but we all have fails sometimes.

Well, I’m loving how much easier Bandit is to handle now, other than that (and the fact that I didn’t come close to dying, but today could be a different story) — yeah, not a great week last week for me, either. Well, they happen & all we can do is look on the positive side. I’m trying!
