‘Tis the Season for Runfessions and Funfessions

With just a couple days left of May, it’s time for Runfessions, or in this case some FUNfessions too. While this month has definitely had its MAYhem moments, celebrating the graduations, birthdays, Mother’s Day and more was a lot of fun too. Before we welcome June, let’s open the Runfessional. Ready?

‘Tis the Season for Runfessions and Funfessions

The Abbott World Marathon Majors rolled out this fabulous jacket. Six years ago when I finished the 6 World Marathon Majors, I runfess I would’ve thrown myself over it and gladly paid the $95. Now? Um, not so much. I will add that 6 years ago, when the WMM first started making merch, only the finishers could access and purchase it via secret password. That all seems pretty funny now.

I funfess that I survived May and sailed through 3 grad parties, 3 birthday parties, 2 black tie galas, 1 college move-out and of course Mother’s Day. Oh and let’s not forget, not one but TWO puppies. If you haven’t seen my Insta stories or Threads, this is Monty. We got him 3 weeks ago. He’s from Ozzy’s bloodline. When I saw that little face it was like looking into Ozzy’s eyes again. I could not resist.

Just to give you perspective, here are the pups together. Romeo weighs all of 6 pounds but he looks huge compared to tiny Monty. They are a handful in the best way possible. So much fun!

Our spring weather leaves much to be desired. I runfess I feel like all of our long, glorious daylight is going to waste when it’s too darn chilly, rainy, insert other bad weather words here, to be outside enjoying it. I runfess this long sleeve, superfine, Merino Wool shirt from Cozy Zero has been on frequent rotation. It’s soft, stretchy and seamless so it’s super comfy on those chilly mornings on the trails when it’s all of 43 degrees. It wicks away sweat and is never itchy. I know, I can’t believe it either. See the nice watch window? I love that as well. I’m thinking this will be a great travel piece when we head off on our summer holiday in just a few short weeks. Try one for yourself and use code MARCIA20 to save 20%.

Ok your turn: What have you to runfess? Has summer weather arrived? Any fun travels coming up? Would you buy the marathon jacket?

Awhhh, Monty! I’d seen a few pics, but didn’t realize he was an actual new family member. What a little charmer ❤️

Love those little furballs!!! I’m sure you love cuddling with them, especially with the truly awful weather we’ve been having! It looks like that’s about to change tho. I am ready!!

Oh my goodness, those two puppies together are SOOO SWEET!! 😍

That Cozy Zero top sounds like exactly the kind of gear you deserve for putting up with all that spring weather nonsense. I hope it earns its place in your suitcase for those summer travels!
    Where are you headed?

And yep, I’m with you on that marathon jacket – hard pass!

Oh my gosh! Two puppies sounds like a whole summer of mayhem — and so much fun!

Soft merino tops are amazing! That one looks fanstastic.

2 dogs… and both so cute!

Our weather has been pretty awful especially on weekends when I race or run. Yup, rain tomorrow during another race.

I personally think race merch is overpriced. I bought my NYCM jacket afterward on a discount site and I love it!!

May is always a busy month around here too! Can’t wait to hear about your summer travels too! Ours is going to be a busy one

Oh my gosh cue the cuteness – Monty is adorable!

May is always chaotic but fun! Now if the weather would just cooperate – we’re looking at the 11th straight weekend with rain in the forecast 🙁

    Two puppies!?! Double the fun!

You know I love the cooler weather!!

Romeo and Monty are the freaking cutest little fluff-balls! I’m so glad they are with you.

I don’t know if I would buy that jacket. Maybe? But jackets aren’t something I need… a crewneck probably.

It’s so very much summer here and I can’t stand it. We already have storms, we had a tornados, and the heat is sucking the motivation from me. Ugh.

marciashealthyslice I'm a working mom who, as part of a mid-life challenge, decided to run a marathon for kicks. I didn't plan on it becoming a hobby, but it did. I qualified for Boston at my second marathon and finished the 6 World Marathon Majors in London in 2019. Set no small goals. You never know what you're capable of until you try!
