Oh 2025, you were a quick one. Weren’t we just welcoming you in as the brand new year? Now here you are slipping away all too quickly. Before 2026 arrives, it’s time to open the Runfessional one last time in 2025. Let’s hear some Boxing Day Runfessions.
Boxing Day Runfessions
You probably already know this, but 2025 has not been the best running year for me. You could say it has been the worst, since I’ve barely done any running. A cranky, geriatric hip will do that I guess. I runfess though, that said hip is going in for “servicing” shall we say? Yes, it’s all scheduled up and I’m good to go. 2026 will be a time of recovery for me and I’m feeling good about that.
My hip surgery will also mean some extended time off work. I runfess I’m looking forward to that as well.
And finally, because I’m feeling so hopeful about my hip recovery, I runfess we’ve already booked a pretty epic trip that I’ve always wanted to do for later in 2026. Life is short right? Gotta do all the things. I just hope I won’t need a scooter. Haha!
Ok your turn! What have you to runfess? Are you doing any Boxing Day shopping? I hope you had an amazing Christmas, Hanukkah and whatever else you celebrate!

Good luck with your hip surgery! Hip replacement I guess? Here’s hoping recovery goes well and you’ll be back to being active quickly!
I hope all goes well with your hip surgery! Next year’s travel plans sound exciting:-)
Oh, that sounds like a big surgery! Getting it properly “serviced” sounds like the right call. A recovery-focused 2026 beats limping along and hoping for miracles. And extended time off work as part of the deal is amazing!
I’m excited to see where you trip will take you to… I’m kind of hoping Switzerland again!
Good luck with the hip surgery and recovery. I have also not run this year very much. I didn’t plan it just happened and it’s ok. It’s always nice to have a big trip to look forward to-we do too! Perhaps we will end up in the same continent again.
Would be interesting to document your recovery if you are up for it
Best of luck with your hip surgery (replacement?). Michelle had one and did really well. She’s easing back into running! It will be nice to be pain free.
Happy New Year! New Year, New You!
Oh, wow, good luck with the hip surgery. It’s great to have a fun trip planned too!
Good luck. Michelle, I’m sure has lots of tips.
Can’t wait to hear where you are going…
Good luck with your surgery! I can’t wait to hear about your exciting adventure!
I do hope the hip surgery does wonderful things for you! Here’s to a speedy recovery and a return to all the things you love!
