Can May really be fading away? The answer is yes. Yes, it sure can. I know we’ve all been busy with all the May things. Before we welcome June though, we must open up the Runfessional for the Runfession Friday Linkup.
Despite doing some very successful walk/run intervals, I runfess I’ve been a very good girl, focusing on trail WALKS and strength training. I have plenty of time to get back to running, when the bionic hip is fully healed.
While we were in Blacksburg retrieving daughter #2 from college, we walked a lot. One evening, I runfess I feared I may have overdone it when I realized I’d covered 7 miles and over 17,000 steps. Thankfully my bionic hip was none the worse for wear. I suppose this was good training for our upcoming “canyoneering” trip.
Since I’m not running in my spare time, you know I love to declutter. I runfess I thought I was doing so great on the decluttering front, alas the universe said otherwise when an entire bar in my closet collapsed under the weight of…ahem…apparently too many pairs of pants. I had to deal with all of it right then and there in the moment because I could not let the Caveman see the devastation, so I performed a hard “speed” declutter to further cull the pants herd. The closet bar has been restored but I guarantee you there are still too many pants.
You may know I love my morning meditation and word games. Said games are the side dish to my coffee. It’s a fun way to get the ole brain going. The other day though, I unintentionally broke a 221 day streak I had going on one of my games. I’m not sure how that happened but I runfess I’m still pretty upset about it.
Okay your turn: What have you to runfess? Are you a minimalist? Hoarder? Somewhere in between?

I think it’s really smart that you are giving yourself proper time to heal. Nothing to lose so much to gain. I am in a declutter mode too-I’m calling it reverse nesting
Kudos to your continued successful recovery. I’m sure your bionic hip is ever-so-happy! Incidentally, does she have a name? (Sorry, couldn’t resist, LOL, since my 2017 knee-scar has a name, Voldemort).
I’m so happy to hear how your hip is doing.
I feel like I’m a minimalist with some things.
But if you look in my closets. Several. I look like a hoarder. It’s so much work to make those decisions. So I go for a run. lol
Oh, I feel you on losing that streak!! Crazy how stuff like that upsets us.
I’m on a 345-streack with Duolingo right now and my goal is to get to 365 days when the subscription stops (I will then switch to Kwiziq, which seems to be a better fit). The paranoia is real!! In fact, you’ve just reminded me that I should probably go do a lesson right now before disaster strikes!
Definitely smart to take your time with your hip. Running will be there whenever your ready for it. Great to hear that the recovery process continues to go so well!
I’ve been trying to declutter my closet as well – I’m convinced someone’s adding clothes when I’m not looking LOL
I runfess – despite trying, I still have WAY too many pants in my closet.
I killed out Connections streak of over 200 by forgetting to go back to finish! What games do you play?
OMG I have had that happen in the closet! And ugh! Yes. It must be dealt with immediately.
As soon as we come back from NC, A and I are going to jump into purging and decluttering. I haven’t been home and when I am home I don’t want to clean. But he is packing and prepping which makes it a good time.
Proud of you for being patient in your progress. It’s not easy.
