Make Space for What Brings You Joy

It’s June and we’re rapidly approaching the halfway point of the year. How? Time waits for no one, that’s how. I’m sitting down for a little catch up session with Coco, Deborah and you. Let’s get started, shall we?

Make Space for What Brings You Joy

Over coffee I’d tell you I dropped to part-time status at my job. I figured it would enable me to enjoy summer more fully if I wasn’t dragging myself to work all the time. And then I did the unthinkable: A week before my part-time status was to begin, I gave my 2 weeks’ notice. That’s right, I decided to leave my job entirely. During the medical leave for my hip I did a lot of soul searching and thought about what really brings me joy. Coaching brings me joy. My Micro-Bakery brings me joy. Travel brings me joy. My full-time gig hasn’t been joyful for some time now, so it was time to call it quits and make space for other things. I haven’t worked my last day yet, but soon. Life is simply too short.

Over coffee I’d tell you we are very close to getting the in-laws moved over to a senior living facility. Their house sold in four days and we are deep into the packing/giving away/donating phase. The physical move will happen later this month. Fingers crossed, all systems are go. With my MIL’s dementia, she’s already forgotten they are moving and she wants to hang onto every. Single. THING. The struggle is real.

Over coffee I’d tell you daughter #2 is home from college for the summer and of course I’m thrilled to have her here. She started her internship this week. I well know this may be the last summer she’s home with us so I’m cherishing every moment. Yet another reason why I quit my job.

Aqua and blue indicate fat burn. Yellow and orange are carbs.

Over coffee I’d tell you that recovering from hip surgery resulted in some unwanted weight gain and, now that I can be more active, I’ve been working diligently on losing it. While I’ve used my Lumen Metabolism Tracker for years, I didn’t always follow its guidance as closely as I should have. Since mid-April I’ve been following the guidelines very closely and I’m happy to say the weight is coming off and I’m spending most of my time in “fat burn” and have reached maximum metabolic flexibility. What’s really exciting is that recently Lumen rolled out The Lumen Lifetime Bundle. For a limited time, you can get the Lumen device + a lifetime unrestricted app subscription for 50% off. No more monthly fees! Learn more and grab your Lumen here.

What would you tell me over coffee? What brings you joy? What can you make space for?

marciashealthyslice I'm a working mom who, as part of a mid-life challenge, decided to run a marathon for kicks. I didn't plan on it becoming a hobby, but it did. I qualified for Boston at my second marathon and finished the 6 World Marathon Majors in London in 2019. Set no small goals. You never know what you're capable of until you try!
