Once Upon a Creamer and The Weekly Wrap

September 4, 2016

Before I get to the creamer shenanigans and other stuff, here’s how the workout week went. I wanna say I’m about 8 weeks out from the Indy Monumental Marathon, the halfway point, I think. You’re right if you guessed I’m sort of winging it and still up in the air as to whether I’ll run [Read More]

Coffee and Driving and Sweating

September 2, 2016

A new month and (almost) a new season! That means its time to get together with Deb, Coco and you for an Ultimate Coffee Date. If we were having coffee, no doubt I’d be rocking my new Starbucks Dublin mug because…well come on….Dublin! The race reports are here and here in case you missed them.  Stay [Read More]

My Fall Race Calendar

August 29, 2016

Let’s distract ourselves from the fact that we’re marinating in stifling humidity by talking about fall. Specifically fall races. You know, the ones where there’s a chill in the air and the foliage is vibrant. This week’s Tuesdays on the Run topic is exactly that: We wanna know what you’ve got up your sleeve this [Read More]

Somebody Stop This Humidity Already!

August 28, 2016

Now that the kids have been in school a full 2 weeks, I’d hoped things would settle into some sort of routine. Um, not so much. Chaos continues to reign. Before I get into that, here’s how my workouts played out: Monday: Yoga Tuesday: Run 6 miles Wednesday: Strength & Core Thursday: 6x800m repeats Friday: Rest [Read More]

Fit a #WeirdWorkout Into Your Busy Day and Win!

August 22, 2016

Special thanks to Prana and Organic Valley for sponsoring this #weirdworkout discussion.  It’s a chaotic time of year for many of us. The change of season, less daylight, back to school, etc. can all make getting in our usual workouts a challenge. Remember though, all movement is fair game when it comes to exercise. While [Read More]

On the Fence

August 21, 2016

This week I officially put myself “on the fence” about this whole fall marathon thing. Blame the heat, travels to Ireland, lackluster training and plenty of distractions and doubts are creeping in. Running the half in Indianapolis would be so much easier. But would I ever forgive myself if I flake? Here’s how my workouts [Read More]

Loving/Not Loving and Designer Ice

August 19, 2016

Summer’s on the downswing, kids are back in school here and it’s been awhile since I shared what I’m loving and not loving, so let’s get to it, shall we? Not Loving that it’s still hot as balls. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for summer. But this 96% humidity jazz makes marathon training no [Read More]

Coconut Oil Goodness and a Giveaway

August 12, 2016

I’m back from my running junket in Ireland and I can’t wait to share all of that craziness with you. But first, while I’m sorting my thoughts and writing those race reports, I NEED to tell you about the Coconut Oil Health and Beauty products I had the opportunity to try from Skinny & Co. [Read More]

Race Day Mishaps? I’ve Had a Few

August 8, 2016

This week’s Tuesdays on the Run topic is Running and Racing Mishaps. Face it, whether it’s negligence on our part or an act of God, sh!* happens sometimes. In the 10 years or so I’ve been running long distance, I’ve certainly had my share of “surprises”. Mostly extreme weather issues, but some other incidents as [Read More]

Olympic Running in Rio

August 1, 2016

The opening ceremonies are starting in Rio this week so what better time to talk everything Olympic Running on Tuesdays on the Run? Tell us which Olympic moments inspire you, what running events are your faves, who you’ll be rooting for and anything else you wanna share. Personally I’m a voracious Olympic games watcher. Any [Read More]

marciashealthyslice I'm a working mom who, as part of a mid-life challenge, decided to run a marathon for kicks. I didn't plan on it becoming a hobby, but it did. I qualified for Boston at my second marathon and finished the 6 World Marathon Majors in London in 2019. Set no small goals. You never know what you're capable of until you try!
