The Year in Race Medals

December 28, 2015

The final week of the year! This week on Tuesdays on the Run we’re reflecting on our races and the bling we remember them by. Who doesn’t love fabulous race medals? I know I do.

So without further babbling I present to you my year in race medals.

race medals 2015

Left to right:
AG1 Turkey Trot 4 miler
Fort2Base Nautical 10 Miler (11.5 miles)
Cara 10 Miler
RocknRoll VegasΒ Half Marathon
RocknRoll Vegas Remix
RocknRoll VegasΒ 5k
Patriot TriathlonΒ 2nd Overall female (still not sure how I pulled that off)
Twin Cities Marathon
Espirit de She Triathlon
Eggshell Shuffle 5k

Overall a solid year. I still feel bad about over committing and having to bag a couple of races but live and learn. What I’m probably most thrilled about is managing to run injury-free again this year.

That AG place in your Tri is really awesome Marcia πŸ™‚ Well done. Injury free sounds perfect, I think that is my #1 2016 goal.

That’s a good looking medal haul!

Mine’s a lot smaller than last year as I managed to do a few races where you didn’t get a medal at the end! Got other goodies but I do like a medal.

I think there should be an injury-free medal – I would get one this year too! πŸ™‚ That may be the thing I’m most impressed by, not that I ran my first full marathon this year, but that I managed to get through marathon training without injury!

No shame in having big ambitions. So what if you have to bag a couple of races? At least you had the courage to commit in the first place. You can’t help it if life gets in the way.
