My mom lives alone, does not have many/any hobbies beyond doing things for [Read More]

Three Things Thursday

April 22, 2010

Happy Earth DayI’m pretty good about being green: I recycle, keep lights off unless necessary, keep the heat low, etc. Something new I’m going to try is kitchen composting…meaning collecting eggshells, coffee grounds, fruit/veggie scraps, composting them and using it to enrich our garden. What are you doing to be more eco-conscious? I could gush on for days about the Boston experience but I’ll spare you. I’ve done my best to condense it and hit the highlights. It was a wonderful weekend. First a few pics, leading up to race day: It all ends here Hopefully I will not have to crawl across this on race day! [Read More]

Back from Beantown

April 20, 2010

Wow what a weekend! When it comes to excitement, Boston does not disappoint. It was fun, stressful, hard, glorious, all of those things rolled into one. Where do I even start? I flew home late last night–there was a medical emergency onboard–a runnner no less–so we ended up landing a half hour early. That was [Read More]

Reminiscing

April 14, 2010

With you-know-what a mere days away, I’ve been thinking alot about the whole odyssey last year and thought I’d share some pics as well as Dick Beardsley’s course commentary and a few words of my own as my Boston experience played out. marciashealthyslice I'm a working mom who, as part of a mid-life challenge, decided to run a marathon for kicks. I didn't plan on it becoming a hobby, but it did. I qualified for Boston at my second marathon and finished the 6 World Marathon Majors in London in 2019. Set no small goals. You never know what you're capable of until you try!
