Marathon Training with Coeur Sports

July 2, 2014

The following post is sponsored by Fit Approach on behalf of Coeur Sports. If you hang out with me here you know that, after waiting in the lottery since 2011, this is FINALLY my year to run the New York City Marathon and I’m more than a little excited about it. Although training doesn’t officially [Read More]

Women and Testosterone

July 1, 2014

I’ve been (mostly) a good sport about my running pace sliding over the past few years. Certainly age will do that, although I feel like my personal decline was more abrupt that it needed be. I’ve whined to my doctor countless times about feeling weak and winded, only to be told “everyone’s tired” and that [Read More]

June by Number

June 30, 2014

June was a lull before the (NYC marathon training) storm. Actually there was so much going on with the kids and end of school, ice shows/competitions, birthdays, travel and the like that putting running on the back burner was pretty perfect. I kept true to my word and kept June a Racebattical month. Miles Run: [Read More]

Runfessions

June 26, 2014

Yep, time for another purge of the runfessions. Many of you have joined me in the runfession movement so this time around I made it a linkup. The plan is to share runfessions during the last week of the month or so. Let’s go: I procrastinated yesterday’s workout because I had a cleaning jag. Unheard [Read More]

#Sunsational Summer Entertaining

June 25, 2014

June and July are big party months here at Casa del Marcia. Everyone in the house has a summer birthday except yours truly, which leaves me with a bit of party planning on my hands. No worries though, because I love entertaining. Over the years, I’ve learned to make it easier and easier on myself. [Read More]

Loving/Not Loving and a Winner

June 23, 2014

Loving: That last week’s single parenting stint is over. I loved the quality time with Thing 2 but not getting out to run or bike or to the gym kind of sucked. Not Loving: Keeping these kiddos off the ‘puter. Especially when the weather’s crummy. Loving: New tights I bought with the Dick’s GC I [Read More]

Almost-Solstice Fun

June 19, 2014

I’d like to thank the Academy. Remember just the other day I was whining about how our community garden is overflowing with newcomers this year and they’ve really raised the bar and I’m envious of their technicolor trellises, engraved garden stones, robotic scarecrows, etc. while I struggle to make a dent in the weeds in [Read More]

Fun with Airia One

June 18, 2014

Hump Day! I’m halfway thru my stint of single parenting one child as the Caveman is off on business and Thing 1 is away with her grandparents. Not getting outside to run/bike or to the gym hasn’t been the greatest but, truth be told, it’s pretty steamy here this week and the mill is a [Read More]

Currently and a Winner

June 16, 2014

Books: Just finishing Spartan Up and started The One and Only, which was included in the June Pop Sugar Must Have Box. More on the rest of the box contents soon! Running Path: Here, there and everywhere. I’m completely off of any kind of plan until NYCM training fires up in July and it feels [Read More]

Fun and Frenetic Friday Five

June 13, 2014

This week I’m linking up with Cyn, Courtney and Mar’s Friday Five. Here we go: 1. I’m single parenting this weekend so I guess any Father’s Day festivities for the Caveman (beyond sneaking a card in his luggage) will have to wait. 2. Shortly the girl chicks and I will be road tripping out of state for [Read More]

marciashealthyslice I'm a working mom who, as part of a mid-life challenge, decided to run a marathon for kicks. I didn't plan on it becoming a hobby, but it did. I qualified for Boston at my second marathon and finished the 6 World Marathon Majors in London in 2019. Set no small goals. You never know what you're capable of until you try!
